Tredegar enjoyed a fine 146 run victory against Blaina in this Bank Holiday friendly. Batting first Tredegar amassed a very competitive total of 243 – 6 with Gareth Jones in fine form scoring 66. He was joined in a fourth wicket partnership of 96 by Huw Jenkins who was forced to retire hurt on 32 before Lee Herring (44 Not Out) and Ian Pembrey (21 Not Out) took the home side to 243 – 6 from their 40 overs. The pick of the Blaina bowlers was N Williams finishing with a respectable 2 – 15.

In reply only D Edwards with 33 offered any real resistance for the visitors as they were bowled out for 97. Scott Quirk was on form with the ball bowling lots of dot balls on his way to 3 – 5. Ian Pembrey completed a fine all round display as he finished with 2 – 19 with the other wicket takers Steve Davies 1 – 7, Lewis Parfit 1 – 14, Geraint Hughes 1 – 23 and Adam Davies 1 – 26.
